GAIL CSR - Commitment and Values Beyond Business
GAIL has been engaged in planned community and social benefit programmes, carried out under the Special Component Plan (SCP) and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) since 1992. Subsequently in 2002, a comprehensive CSR policy was adopted by the Board, wherein 1% of PAT was allocated as annual CSR budget. CSR programmes are taken up at almost 36 work centers and Zonal offices located across the country, focusing at development and empowerment of the people belonging to socially, economically and under-privileged segment of the society, specially in the neighborhood of our operational projects. The annual CSR allocation has been increased to 2% of the PAT for the previous F/Y, with effect from the year 2009-10, by incorporating a change in the Policy, which also provisions for a carry-forward of any unspent amount for utilization in the next year.
